Recording help

Post  Mr.Blue on September 2nd 2014, 11:49 am

Someone mind helping me with dxtory or fraps? My fraps is really good but the problem is it cuts videos at 4 gbs so its a pain in the ass trying to combine them all on a video editor and taking 2 hours trying to render it all. But with dxtory, its just laggy for me. Anyone recomend any settings for me to try or any codecs. Thank you

Did you get the dxtory video codec?

also what's the write speed setting? you can benchmark it in the write thingy and then set it accordingly depending how fast you can record data at

there's a bunch of other performance settings you might wanna check too

The red circle is where you can check/uncheck if it splits every 4 gigs, and the blue circle is where you can change the FPS of the video. 30 is what I use because it's the lowest without cutting around and it doesn't quite affect my ingame FPS.

I was going to try out dxtory but if you say it's real laggy then I might not get it.

I recommend saying fuck it and getting OBS it's a great program for streaming and recording videos it works a bit like Xsplit and it's free so why not. It's got loads of settings you can change like max bitrate, scaling, other encoding settings and more shit (too lazy to list em). So yea it's pretty good I use it all the time. I used to use traps too but this is way better also did I mention its free? Cause it is, so just try it out anyway. Also file sizes aren't like fucking 1gb per minute.
